With one of McCain's key advisers being ex Georgian lobbyist, Randy Scheunemann and Condoleezza's meeting with Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili in July 10, 2008. It tweaks my interest and makes me ask, " just what the hell is going on?" The Left is accusing the McCain campaign and the administration of orchestrating an international conflict in order to bolster McCain's chances. The Right suggests that Obama hasn't a clue and is void of any foreign affairs experience, he is not qualified to hold office.
My take is: Stop this train! I want to get off! 1984 was a great book but I don't want to live it!
Afghanistan is our friend, we will help you fight our enemy the Russians. Oh, sorry we made up. Now you're harboring terrorists. You are now our enemy. Iraq - they're our friends - we'll give Sadam a bunch of WMD's so he can kill those nasty Iranians. Whoops, so sorry, Iraq you're our enemy. Sadam, thanks for doing our dirty work but, now you're the boogie man because, you've got oil and Bin Laden has close ties with our shrubbery, so we're at war with you. No wait a minute, we won the war so now you are our friends again. Right? Now Russia, that's easy . . . after the cold war ended thanks to Reagan and not the fact that they over spent on the military and neglected their infrastructure, they are our friends. Right? No. Georgia is our friend. Wait-a-minute they terrorized some of our business, bombed and invaded cities in Ossetia where the citizens wanted to be part of Russia again. (None of this was reported in the main stream media) Then the Russians retaliated and sent troops in. (Now this was well reported). Oh then Georgia is our friend? Yeah that's right Russia is the enemy, again. I don't know about y'all but, I'm getting dizzy. So let me get this straight, Bush looked into the eye of Putnim and said he was a good man yet now he and his gang are rattling sabers at him accusing him of invading a sovereign country. Hmmm, a little of the old pot calling the kettle black syndrome.
WASHINGTON — John McCain's chief foreign policy adviser and his business partner lobbied the senator or his staff on 49 occasions in a 3 1/2-year span while being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by the government of the former Soviet republic of Georgia.
The payments raise ethical questions about the intersection of Randy Scheunemann's personal financial interests and his advice to the Republican presidential candidate who is seizing on Russian aggression in Georgia as a campaign issue.
McCain warned Russian leaders Tuesday that their assault in Georgia risks "the benefits they enjoy from being part of the civilized world."
presidency will ensure no end in sight to war. Our country seems to have embraced "shoot first ask questions later" approach to diplomacy.
Protesters Implore Condoleezza Rice to Help Victims of Georgia's Raid on U.S.Businesses TBILISI, Republic of Georgia, July 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- WHAT: Last year, approximately 200 officers from Georgia's Interior Department raided three U.S. businesses -- Lazer-2, Sony Centre-Tbilisi, and Cafe Rustaveli -- owned by California entrepreneurs. They seized goods worth $2 million and vandalized the properties. The companies have demanded Georgia restore their investments and compensate for losses to no avail. WHY: Ironically, with Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice's visit to Georgia this week, the government is banking on continued U.S. support not only for its ongoing dispute with Russia but also for increased investment by U.S. businesses. Why should U.S. businesses continue to invest in Georgia when they are not respected or protected on Georgian soil? Even the expropriation laws that are supposed to protect U.S. investments in this case were not upheld. The businesses had long term leases, through 2015 and 2019, respectively, on Rustaveli Avenue, a prestigious address and Tbilisi's version of the Champs-Elysees. WHO: Representatives of iZee Enterprises, including former employees and their families who were left jobless after the raid. WHEN: 8 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 WHERE: U.S. Embassy in Georgia, 11 George Balanchine Street, Tbilisi
Let's hope cooler heads prevail. I don't want to get into a shooting match with Russia. Everybody looses that battle. Although a major world war might just be what we need to pull us out of this housing market. Remember the Great depression? It began with a very select few getting rich beyond belief and receiving tax cuts while hundreds of thousands of laborers lost jobs and homes. The banks were foreclosing left and right . - inflation was left unchecked and prior to the crash of 29 the market had crazy fluctuation. Am I the only one who sees similarities?
Oh well, If the Mayan calendar is correct, and the pentacostal "End Timers" get their way, we only have another few years to deal with this kind of BS.
